One night while praying over a particular thing in my life, God started showing me some things that I had never thought of before about generational bloodlines.
Have you ever taken a serious look at your generational line?
Are there generational curses?
Generational blessings?
Can you identify or see a pattern with a particular living standard, emotions, situations or attitudes within your bloodlines on both your mother and father's sides of the family?
I had been thinking about mine. A LOT. What did my ancestors spiritually battle? What were they involved in? Was there past witch craft? Past poverty? The more I started thinking about it the more I really don't know.
I thought about what things of my ancestors has been carried onto me? I'm not just talking about my parents, I'm talking about all of the past generations and how we became who we are today.
There are spiritual links like a chain that flow through a family. Each link represents a person and the metals that hold it all together represent who they were spiritually. Their DNA in the world and not of this world.
You see satan tries to get into the very metal you were created with to put a kink in your particular part of your chain so that it will disrupt the flow of the strand.
Blessings and curses come in a form of a supernatural seed from the fruit of the past and all seeds are passed down with each generation. When a new generation is handed down those seeds, it is that generation's responsibility to decide if they are going to keep and plant each seed.
In all honesty, you can see it with the way that the world is. Most of the time each family replants the exact seeds given to them without taking the authority to choose. They feel as if though they are obligated to receive what they have been given and that is just the way that it is.
God wants you to know that YOU do not have to accept every seed given to you from the fruit of the past and YOU choose what you plant.
If poverty seeds were handed down, YOU choose not to plant them.
If cancer seeds were handed down, YOU decide to throw them away.
If seeds of depression or anger were handed down, you choose!
If seeds of wealth were planted, you CAN plant them!
Remember, what YOU plant in your life, will be passed down to your children. Good or the bad and they will have to choose to change the patterns or not.
Think about a family that has always lived at poverty level. If someone choose to believe that they have to live like that too just because their family did then they are replanting that seed and nothing will ever change until someone decides that it HAS to change!
Same with a family of wealth. If someone wants to keep that seed going, they will choose to work hard to plant it too. It goes both ways.
Let's look at how significant seeds are.
And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Matthew 17:20
Seeds can move mountains! Now the Lord was referring to sowing a seed in faith and all it takes is a little bit of faith to see something move. Not exactly about being given generational fruit but see that Jesus said that something so small can have a HUGE impact on your life.
So, this week I want you to think about your bloodline. Can you see patterns of behavior or lifestyle? What seeds have been planted and what seeds do you want to uproot and change for the next generation?
On Thursday I'll be back with a new blog post that takes a look at taking back the generational seeds from the past that were not planted! See you then!
