At the beginning of this year I wrote a blog post about the things I want to focus on before I turn 30. The things on my list almost felt like New Year's resolutions for the inevitable countdown to the BIG 3-0. Everyday that goes by only reminds me that it's coming up faster than I ever imagined. When I graduated high school at the cute age of 18, thirty sounded so far away, so "grown up." I felt as if I had all the time in the world until the nerve wracking day approached. I mistakenly thought the years would go by like molasses and I could enjoy every minute of young adulthood. I must admit, I was SO wrong. 12 years have flown by like a blink of an eye. 1 happy marriage, 3 babies and years of chasing my dreams later, it's already almost here. In 3 months, I will forever leave my twenties behind and try and embrace the new personal decade. As these 300 and some odd days have passed and I'm more and more accepting of my own life, I've realized that I am terribly busy. Busy doing tedious chores. Busy running errands, grocery shopping, going to appointments, taking trips, traveling for my blog and just about anything else adulthood throws my way. After evaluating my own habits, which I tend to do a lot so that I can make changes, I've come to understand that I need to be the best me I can be so that I can be my best for others. That if I take care of me and make a daily "plan," then I can tackle more things with less stress. Sounds good right? So today, I'm breaking down my ideas for pre planning to make my day easier with lists, outfits, meals, all the way down to my taking my favorite vitamin, Centrum® MultiGummies®. Remember, health and energy are first priorities to being successful while busy.
In order for you to be successful the next day, here are 6 things you need to do the night before.
1. STOP! It's PLANNER TIME.
Ok, cheesy I know but having a cute planner and actually using it are two different things. YOU HAVE TO USE IT in order for it to work! If you don't have a planner, you can pick one up at a local store or order one online. I actually got mine at Walmart during back to school season at a really reasonable price. You really don't have to spend a lot to find a simple & cute planner. Although there are a lot of amazing planners out there that are pricey, a cheap one will do the trick too! You can add washi tape, stickers, post it notes ect. to make it fun and inspire you to use the darn thing. Oh and add some cute inspirational quotes in it to give yourself a little pep talk each day.
2. Make a to- do list.
Write down in your planner, what needs to be done for the next day. Laundry? Dishes? Vacuum? Wash sheets? Make a certain phone call? Coffee date? Whatever you want to accomplish the next day write it down and be realistic. By actually writing those things down, you won't forget things, you will place an importance on them and you can feel joy crossing them off.
3. Pick out your outfit.
By choosing your clothes for the next day the night before you will save yourself time and the mess of throwing things on the floor in a hurry. You will be less stressed trying to find something to wear and you will be able to look more put together. Since you already know what you will be wearing, it will save you time too!
4. Plan you meals.
I can even remember where I heard it but when you don't plan, you fail. When you pre plan what you're going to eat the next day you won't be standing at the fridge forever and then after giving up grabbing something unhealthy. Write down a little menu and eat what's on it for the day. By doing so you will know how much you will be eating and what so that you won't know what sounds good and just grab pizza on the way home one night. You don't even have to precook it if you don't really want to, and if you do, it will be just that much easier! By choosing the day or week before what you'll be eating, it will help you stay on track for your fitness goals. Don't forget to include vitamins into your meal plan. Not only will they provide you with the nutrients that you need if you are lacking in areas but it will support more energy, immunity and metabolism. 5. Set your alarms.
Make sure you have your alarm set to get up early to conquer your day! When you get up early in the day, drink your coffee, eat your planned meal and take your vitamins, your day will be so much more successful. The early bird gets the worm right?
6. Place everything in it's place.
Life is so much easier when you are in a hurry when everything is in it's place. Make sure to set everything where it goes so that you can easily find it in the morning. Keys need a designated spot, clothes laid out, lists and planner are together, meals, snacks and vitamins are together too. By keeping everything organized and it it's spot, laid out the night before you will have more time in the morning to drink your coffee. It will save you so much time. How much time do you spend looking for your keys or worrying about what to wear and eat in the morning when you need to be wherever you're going? I was so done with that, so the night before I get everything ready for the next day now! Grab & go!
