My last year in my 20's + Faves

This week I celebrated my 29th birthday.  There was something about this particular birthday that had me reminiscing of my 20's with a deep realization that in the next 12 months I will be leaving my 20's behind and moving on into my 30's. For some reason I feel like there will be a shift. To me thirty seems so grown up. So responsible. In my own little  head, I feel like I should still be driving around in my high school mustang, blasting backstreet boys with my bass all the way up and going on dates with the boy that I love which turned out to be my husband.

I feel like my life is going to be different or has be to different. In your twenties, you are figuring out what you want to do in life and searching your way through to find who you are as a person. Are you supposed to have it all figured out by the big 3-0? I hope not. I have goals and aspirations and I feel like I do know myself better than I did at 20. I have matured, put in 10 years of marriage and had three babies who are maturing themselves. I don't think we ever stop changing and evolving. Our tastes change, our style changes, our  clothes change, hair changes and everything else in between. Have you ever looked back on a photo of yourself from 10 years ago and think, "what was I thinking?" Yeah I do that often and I realize, when I'm looking back as I turn 39, I'll do the same.

I don't even know the person that I used to be at age 20. What's crazy to me is that I will hardly be able to remember who I am now when I turn 40. These passing days will only be memories and I'll be wishing I could turn back the clock to now. It already makes me sad if I'm being honest. I don't want to forget these moments and feelings. My kids are age 9, 7 and 3. Before I know it I'll hardly be able to remember the details of who they are at this age. They will only be fond memories  too.

Next year, I will be writing my 30th birthday post with either tears or laughter. I want to make the best out of my last year. The final farewell year to the 20 year old me. Will I change in this last year? Who knows.  For these last 365 days, I'm going to choose one word to live by. That word is STRIVE. Strive to be the best mom. Strive to be the best me. Strive to put a priority on taking care of myself. Motherhood usually gets in the way 99.9% of the time. Especially with a 3 year  old who is attached to my hip. When the clock strikes and I officially turn 30, I want to be confident with who I am, feel good in my own skin and know that I gave my all. I want to strive to accomplish more this year than any other year. Take my blog even more seriously and hit the ground running.

It will be good for me to look at this very blog post and see how much I have or haven't changed. I know it's only a 12 month difference, but a lot can happen in that time frame. So with all of that said, I want to remember me and who I am now by sharing my favorites with you.
