Welcome back to week 3 of the One Room challenge hosted by Calling it Home. If you are new to my blog, I'll quickly explain what the ORC is. (Kinds sounds like a housewife thing huh? Well, it's much better and classier!) "Starting on Wednesday, October 7th, twenty design bloggers will transform a space in their home (or the home of a client) from start to finish. Each Week, they will be sharing their process, tips, and sources. All of this will lead up to the final room reveals on Wednesday, November 11th. "
On top of the 20 designers, there are a ton of other bloggers participating in the challenge as well and that includes me too!
Let's take a look back at week one and my blank slate.
So let's look at my first little project. Ok,not so little project. This little sweetheart was a pain but I survived. It was covered in gunk that I had to scrape off. I found it on the side of the road in the spring. Who throws this stuff away!? It should be illegal!
The decor on top of it will be changed out so don't worry.
My husband and my brother mounted our 65" flat screen TV and soundbar. I ordered our TV mount from Amazon. You can find the exact one as mine HERE for only $19.99! You don't have to buy a super expensive one. Metal is metal. Mine is a fixed mount so that it is closer to the wall and I didn't need it to move. {Post contains affiliate links. You can see my policy in my about me page}
To find out more about my sound bar and wireless subwoofer click HERE . My husband insisted that we get it. Little did I know that I don't want to live without it now. It makes the sounds of regular tv sound terrible to me. This baby has bass and turns your home into a theater with that one little bar and a hidden subwoofer that I have on the side of the couch. I'm sure my neighbors totally appreciate when my house is bumping with bass and the wall are vibrating! 100% worth it and so easy to set up. Not to mention it has Bluetooth capabilities so you can hook it up to your phone or Ipad and listen to music, Youtube videos or podcasts.
Floor was provided by DALTILE and it is gorgeous in person. Faux wood planks in Emblem gray.
I will showing the full tutorial and the before picture of this little french beauty later!
So the TV & soundbar are hung, curtain rods and curtains are hung. Couch and rug are in place. Now I need to re do the temporary coffee table, makes some signs, figure out decor and Roman Shades are being ordered Courtesy of Blinds.com! I'm not sure if those will get here in time, but they will be here eventually. Blinds.com is helping me create custom shades for my builder grade home.
One of my favorite things to use as decor is house plants. I'm really obsessed with plants. Ok well not obsessed but they make me happy. I'm on the hunt for a Fiddle Fig tree and I can't find one for the life of me. I'll be making some e-mails for that because I am dying to have one!
So there you have it! Week three is done. We are halfway through and I better get a move on it! No more eating brownies with my coffee, browsing Pinterest and watching the workers across the street install landscaping. Now I'm off to a parent teacher conference. Yay.
I'll be linking up at Calling it Home so go check out the other rooms too! XOXO

I am in love with the dresser!!! I haven't done too much work with my room. Can't wait to see your final reveal.
Your room has ROMANCE stamped all over it. Very dreamy!
