DIY Easy Shabby Chalk Paint Recipe & side table makeover

Watch me make chalk paint on my DIY segment on the Central Valley Today Show!

Who wants to pay up to 35.00+ for a small quart of chalk paint? Not me when I can make my own! Here's how to get the boutique look for less!

For my aqua side table I did the DIY color. I had white latex house paint and added turquoise acrylic craft paint until my desired color was achieved. Then I added the water/baking soda mix and stirred until the right consistency. Then take off your hardware/knobs and paint away! With chalk paint there is NO need to sand!
I scored this awesome side table at Goodwill for $10! Can you believe it? I already had all the paint and supplies on hand so instead of paying an arm and leg for local boutique furniture, mine was only $10 total!
I also scored the brand new Nate Berkus pillows, vintage avon seahorse decanter, the brand new threshold from target lamp & lampshade and super cute ornate mirror which was only $5!

After the paint is dry I put the knobs back then I took some sand paper and distressed the edges where it would naturally be worn over time. You can then seal your piece with some clear coat spray paint.

You can definitely distress more or less depending on what you want the end result to be.
