diy vintage jewelry dish tutorial

I had thinking about what to do with a my rings, small earrings and my wedding rings when I take them off to go to bed....I wanted something cute and functional while not taking up a lot of space on the bathroom counter so I came up with his. I was inspired by those vintage tiered dish things for the kitchen. Not too sure what they are called but I've seen a few of them at local thrift stores and they were snatched up quickly.

Here is what you need:

2 vintage dishes found at thrift stores ( the 2 plates were handed down to me from my grandma )
1 vintage bowl
2 short candle holders from the Dollar Tree
Gorilla glue

Grab the dishes out of your thrifted collection..(this is just a few out of many that I have) and play around with what works for you. i.e  sizes and how functional it is

Remember to keep in mind the size of your jewelry or what you will be placing in it for the size of the dishes. You don't want them to be too small after placing the candle holders in the center!

After you have found the right stack that you like get out your GORILLA GLUE and glue all pieces together. Follow the directions carefully and make sure you DO NOT out too much glue. A little goes a long way with this stuff because it expands.

Then I placed a few more dishes on top to add a little weight until the glue set.

This is how it turned out! Super girly with the 2 pink dishes on top with little pink roses and gold details.
I LOVVVVE the detail of the center dish with the cut out design.

I chose to keep the bowl simple since my hubby will be putting his things in there and my 2 top dishes for rings and small stud earrings are the frilly ones. I might soon have to kick my hubby out of the bottom dish and put my rings in it!

It is a super cute and functional way to use your beautiful vintage dishes and it will make you happy to see them when you are getting ready displaying your jewelry!
