Have you ever been so indecisive about a paint color that you keep chaning it? I just couldn't make up my mind! One day while at Lowe's I checked the mistinted paint like I always do and I found a pretty sorta aqua color. I didn't know what I was gonna do with it yet but I grabbed it for $2.50. I ran home and the next day decided to paint my laundry room with it. So heres what it looked like on the wall
I loved the cool tone and it was kinda kinda beachy ...perfect for what I was gonna do. BUT there wasn't enough in the can for 2 coats and it needed it bad...=( FAIL I didn't have a sticker on the can to say what it was and I didnt want to have to mess with color matching and so on.
My dad is in a MAJOR home makeover...just bought a house and basically is gutting and starting over all DIY. Thats where I got my love of power tools but thats a different story....so with doing his house he bought 22 YES 22 gallons of paint in the wrong color...so who do you think took those 22 gallons? ME!!
Yesterday I took a gallon to Home Depot and had it re-tinted...YES you can do that! So this is the color I picked out...
The paint color is FRESH GUACAMOLE by Glidden... I slapped it on the wall @ 11pm last night and no bueno. Not because the color isn't beautiful but it just didn't turn out like I wanted it to with my lighting and the look I'm going for. Late last night it looked BRIGHT green...maybe it was because it was night time and the lighting but maybe because I was so tired and not thinking right. I couldn't make up my mind whether or not I'd want to proceed.
This picture truly doesnt show how bright it looked last night. I was scared of the bright color! I'm usually NEVER afraid of trying anything DIY or with color but this wasn't doing it for me. sooo at 11pm and tired as heck I did this...
PRIMED and PRIMED! whew back to my comfort zone...Now there is still a lot of work to do...painting the walls is the first step. Back to Home Depot to have another gallon re-tinted. You'll have to wait and see what I picked out!
Back to my laundry room journey!
